Many people come to me for non-pharmaceutical alternatives for high blood pressure and hypertension. I work with their pharmacist to reduce the dosage of the pharmaceuticals as their vital force, weight, and lifestyle dramatically improve from being in my care.
Here are my thoughts on hypertension from years of practice –
Pharmaceutical Drug-Induced – many over-the-counter drugs such as corticosteroids and immunosuppressive drugs can cause or exacerbate hypertension. This is the common cause of hypertension I see in my practice.
Pain medications most alarmingly raise blood pressure and place a great deal of stress and strain on the kidneys.
Overeating and emotional eating are real biochemical, physiological, and emotional problems. Reaching for unhealthy fats – cream, butter, fatty meats, glyphosate-ridden canola and vegetable oils, rich pastries, sweets, and eating too often and between meals can be hard habits to break but are essential for longevity.
Chronic consumption of alcohol and caffeine can also lead to high blood pressure. 30-60% of alcoholics have hypertension.
Mental health issues, stress, and extreme emotions of worry, fear, grief, anger, depression, self-pity, envy, jealousy, and failing to meet obligations and appointments. These are the most common themes in my cases.
The remedies I often reach for in my clinic include Medhorrhinum, Arg Nit, Calc Carb, Nat Mur, Glonione. Phosphorus and Nux Vomica.
A complete overhaul of your diet, lifestyle and mental health is essential for permanent and lasting change with hypertension.
